Objectives and tasks

The aim of the EMN is to provide a systematic collection of up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information and data in the field of migration and asylum.

The collected information are available for political decision-makers, institutions and organisations as well as persons, working in the area of migration and asylum and also to the general public in order to support their work and raise interest.

The main tasks of the EMN are

• compile national studies
• issue annual statistics and policy reports
• launch and answer Ad-Hoc queries
• produce and further develop the EMN Glossary
• develop a national network
• develop an Information Exchange System
• gather general information in the field of migration and asylum
