What is the EMN?
The European Migration Network (EMN) is a Europe-wide network of migration and asylum experts who provide up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information on emerging issues relating to migration and asylum in Europe. The EMN plays a crucial role in facilitating information-sharing and responding to information needs of EU and national policymakers as well as providing information to the general public.
The EMN consists of National Contact Points (NCPs) in EMN Member Countries (all EU Member States except Denmark) and Observer Countries, as well as the European Commission, which coordinates the network. NCPs are based in ministries, specialized government agencies, research institutes, universities and Country Offices of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
EMN in Austria
The IOM Country Office for Austria has been designated by the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior as Austria’s National Contact Point (NCP). EMN Austria produces key publications, hosts national and international events, and collaborates with a broad network of experts and stakeholders.
