As part of Austria’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Austrian National Contact Point for the European Migration Network (EMN) organized the 2018 EMN Annual Conference on 4 and 5 October 2018, entitled “Managing Migration – from Reacting to Shaping”. More than 200 representatives from the EU, Member States and third countries, as well as from international organizations, non-governmental organizations and academic institutions, attended the conference.
In three thematic panels, the 18 selected speakers addressed cooperation between the EU and third countries in the field of migration, the return and reintegration of migrants, and measures for local protection and support for migrants and displaced persons.
