Organizing events on the topic of migration and asylum is one of the main activities of the EMN and the National Contact Points. Among other things, these events aim to raise awareness of the EMN and its work amongst various stakeholders both within and outside the EU. EMN representatives often take on not only the role of organizers but also that of moderators. Against this backdrop, EMN Austria organized two half-day workshops on 30 November and 6 December 2022, during which participants learnt ‘state-of-the-art’ moderation techniques for online, hybrid and in-person events. Under the guidance of a professional moderation trainer, the 12 participants were introduced to the tasks and responsibilities of moderators and were able to further consolidate their newly acquired skills through role-play exercises.
