As part of the conference ‘Challenges of Labour Demand and Migration Trends in the European Union – Perspectives of EU Member States’, an overview was provided of the key findings of the EMN study ‘Satisfying labour demand through migration’. A comparison of labour migration within the EU and the situation in Austria were each presented in an opening address. This was followed by a discussion of national perspectives, and the conference concluded with a panel discussion focusing on the current needs of the Austrian labour market and the role of migrants within it.
