The intake of international students from third countries into the EU has risen steadily in recent years. The priority given to recruiting and retaining international students varies considerably from one Member State to another.
However, the challenges appear to be similar in many cases. To mark the publication of the EMN study „Attracting and retaining international students in the EU“, the Austrian National Contact Point within the EMN organised an expert discussion as part of the “EU Migration Talks” series of events. During the event, both national and Europe-wide findings from the study were presented. Together with the experts who contributed to the national report for this study, we discussed the situation in Austria and compared it with that in Germany and the Netherlands.
“EU Migration Talks” is a series of events organized by the Austrian National Contact Point within the EMN. Based on the findings of recent EMN studies, the EU Migration Talks provide a forum for discussing migration-related topics.
