Reliable and efficient data systems are essential for fair asylum procedures, effective case management and safeguarding rights throughout the asylum process. Interoperability, data protection and accuracy play a critical role in decision-making.
The publication provides insight into how asylum data are collected, stored, shared and managed across all phases of the procedure in EMN Member and Observer Countries between 2014 and 2020. It highlights persistent challenges such as system fragmentation, resource constraints and pandemic-related disruptions, while outlining good practices for improving quality and coordination. The analysis aims to support more transparent and effective data governance.
