The IOM Country Office for Austria, acting as Austria’s National Contact Point within the European Migration Network (EMN), held its National Conference on 12 June 2013 at the Albert Schweitzer Haus in Vienna. The aim of the conference was to analyse various strategies and different perspectives (countries of origin and destination, the private sector, etc.) and to exchange experiences between EU and non-EU countries. The first EMN study of 2013 on the topic of “Attracting Highly Qualified and Qualified Third-Country Nationals” provided the research background for the event. Following this, experts discussed future prospects regarding the immigration of highly qualified and qualified third-country nationals to Austria.
