Ensuring timely access to quality schooling is essential for migrant children’s integration and for safeguarding equal rights across the EU. This EMN inform outlines how 25 EMN Member and Observer Countries facilitate access to primary and secondary education for legally staying third‑country national children, comparing national frameworks, enrolment procedures, support measures and data practices, with notable variation in language provision, preparatory classes, psychosocial support and teacher training. Common challenges include language barriers, differing education systems, shortages of trained teachers and administrative hurdles, while good practices range from targeted language programmes and inclusive teacher training to family‑focused support and the use of bilingual staff or mediators. By mapping these obstacles and effective approaches, the EMN inform aims to offer concise evidence to support policymakers advance more inclusive education systems.
